Elysian Park Sunset

So many good moments in California on this trip. This one happened in the middle of a spirited game of disc golf in Elysian Park with Jayna and our friend Tim. The sun was going down behind the trees and the whole hillside went warm, and I had to stop and paint it. It’s one of my favourite kinds of painting: not a famous view, just an ordinary evening with people I love that turned out to be beautiful. Painted on location and left exactly as it was finished that day.
